(Lander, WY) – Lander Valley football got its first look at other teams Friday evening, but nobody was keeping score.
The Tigers hosted Glenrock and Lyman for a Week 0 jamboree at Bill Bush Stadium. Both visitors play in 2A, a class down from Lander. In a jamboree, two games run at the same time, one on each half of the field. Each team gets eight plays on offense to work its way toward the goal line, and coaches can call whatever they want to see. There is no clock and no final score, just live reps against real competition.

Special teams got real work in. Both the punting and the receiving units spent time on punts, an area that tends to get shortchanged in practice and decide games in October.
Senior wide receivers Finn McFadden and Caleb Andrews both looked sharp. The Tigers will need that from them all fall if they want to win games this season.

For head coach John Rounds, the night was mostly about sorting out who is playing where. He used the jamboree to settle the ones, twos and threes at each position so the team can spend this week practicing with a set lineup instead of shuffling more bodies around.
Lander opens the season over the hill in Jackson on Friday. The Broncs already have a game under their belt, having beaten Teton, Idaho 40 to 18 in Week 0. Kickoff at Jackson is set for 6 p.m.
