(Lander, WY) – Reader’s Digest recently compiled a list of the best fireworks displays in every state, and what is surely not a surprise to anyone who has ever attended the local celebrations, Lander took the top spot for Wyoming.
Here is what Reader’s Digest had to say:
“Lander, Wyoming, hosts one of the Wild West’s most iconic small-town 4th of July celebrations and fireworks displays. The oldest paid rodeo in the world, Lander Pioneer Days predates Pioneer Days in Cheyenne by a few years. This year, you’ll enjoy a half-marathon, pancake breakfast, rodeo (of course) and a parade, along with fabulous fireworks at the Wyoming Life Resource Center, starting at 9 p.m.”
In addition to the events mentioned above, Landerites and visitors can also enjoy adult beverages and setting off fireworks themselves, thanks to local ordinances being passed that allow open container and the use of fireworks within city limits (up until midnight, with some restrictions).
