(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton (NWSR) has shared that a Red Flag Warning will be in effect from 12 PM to 7 PM today, September 14.
The warning is for Fremont County, mainly in the southern portion affecting Jeffrey City and the South Pass area.
Low humidities (as low as 11%), and strong gusty winds (gusts up to 35 mph) could cause erratic fire behavior.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now….or will shortly. A combination of strong winds…low relative humidity…and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.“
