(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Red Flag
Warning today, July 27, in effect until 8:00 PM on Sunday.
The warning states that low humidities (as low as 13%) and gusty winds (up to 35 mph) could cause erratic fire behavior for Fremont, Sweetwater and Natrona Counties.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong wind, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
While there is a chance of more rain today and tomorrow, the NWSR also shared the following outlook for fire weather concerns early in the week as well.
