(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton-issued Red Flag Warning for Fremont County remains in effect until 9 PM tonight, August 10.
“A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.”
The NWSR is calling for high temperatures in the mid-80s to lower 90s, low humidity (as low as 15%), and dry thunderstorms with gusty and erratic outflow winds (10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph) that could cause erratic fire behavior. Some of the outflow gusts could reach 55 mph.
An Air Quality Alert also remains in effect until noon today.
