(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton High School SkillsUSA club recently reached out to County 10 to help spread the word on some of the awesome events they have been hosting to promote the work of SkillsUSA.
SkillsUSA is a workforce development organization for students that “empower(s) students to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members.”
SkillsUSA encourages vocational skills based on real-life jobs, including “Welding, Automotive, Culinary, Nursing, Education and so much more.”
As a part of SkillsUSA, the Riverton Club regularly hosts events that “display community service, patriotism, and promotion of career and technical education,” shared member Tosha Kenyon.
Most recently, the Club hosted an all-school dress-up day on February 4, where the theme was “dress as your future career.”
“We had over 30 SkillsUSA members participate. These jobs ranged from mechanic, to librarian, to welder, to teacher,” Tosha also shared.
“It was very fun and interesting to see what chapter members’ future job aspirations are and to see how SkillsUSA helps members achieve them.”
