(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton City Council will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the Council Chambers at Riverton City Hall, 816 N. Federal Blvd.
The agenda includes an introduction and oath of office for the city’s new community development director.
The council will also consider approving the appointment of former council member Dean Peranteaux as an alternate member of the Riverton Airport Board.
There are two third-reading ordinances on the agenda that would: extend the hours of operation allowed for alcohol-serving establishments on Sundays and require alcohol server training for those establishments.
The council will consider another ordinance on second reading Tuesday, adopting the 2024 International Building Code.
A public hearing will be held before the council considers an ordinance on first reading vacating a public alley located between East Fremont Avenue and East Park Avenue from North Seventh Street East to North Sixth Street East.
Staff said the request “will enable Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church to enclose the alley with a fence and prohibit access by unauthorized members of the public.”
“The primary motivation for the vacation expressed by the church is to create a safer environment for students attending Saint Margaret’s School,” staff said in a memo to the council.
Other items on the agenda include:
- a resolution supporting the application of a Level II Study with the Wyoming Water Development Commission
- a bid award for a pavement preservation project
- contract approval for wastewater treatment plant improvements
An executive session will be held if needed before adjournment.
Tuesday’s meeting will be preceded by a 6:45 p.m. Finance Committee meeting in the same location.
