(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton City Council is set to hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 816 N Federal Blvd. This meeting promises to be packed with important discussions and decisions.
The evening kicks off a bit early with the Finance Committee meeting at 6:45 p.m., where they’ll review bills to be paid.
Mayor Tim Hancock will lead the Council through the usual proceedings, including roll call. The agenda is full, starting with the introduction and swearing-in of a new Police Lieutenant.
The Council will then move on to reports from various committees, the City Administrator, and, of course, the Mayor. Following these updates, there will be an opportunity for public comments—so if you have something to say, this is your chance!
Key items on the agenda include a public hearing and consideration of a fireworks permit application from Fremont County School District #25. This permit, if approved, will cover several dates in September and one in October.
The Council will also tackle multiple ordinance considerations, including:
- Ordinance No. 24-002 (3rd & Final Reading): Department Heads Hiring Concurrence.
- Ordinance No. 24-003 (2nd Reading): Trees & Shrubs.
- Ordinance No. 24-004 (2nd Reading): Public Intoxication.
- Ordinance No. 24-005 (2nd Reading): Municipal Parking Lot Regulations.
In addition, two resolutions are on the table:
- Resolution No. 1507: Regarding the Eastern Shoshone Business Park Planned Unit Development (PUD).
- Resolution No. 1508: Supporting a Safe Streets for All Grant Application.
For aviation enthusiasts, there will be discussions about lease agreements with Aeroaviation and Kraus Enterprises at the Riverton Airport. And if needed, an executive session may be called before the meeting adjourns.
