(Riverton, WY) – Two new Riverton Police Department (RPD) patrol officers and a dispatcher were sworn in at the September 17 Riverton City Council meeting held Tuesday night.
The patrol officers sworn in were Emily Ayers and Kendell Kramer.
Ayers grew up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas, and her family moved to Laramie shortly after.
Ayers competed in shooting competitions when she was younger all over Wyoming and Colorado during high school and college.
She attended college in Casper where she obtained her EMT Basic License, and later gained her advanced EMT license in Riverton.
Since then, she has worked as an EMT in Fremont County for five years before switching to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, where she worked in the detention center as a Detention Deputy for an additional five years.
Ayers tied for the top award during the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy for Detention Officer Basic, and in her free time, she enjoys hunting with her hunting dog, fishing, archery, kayaking, and horseback riding, but stated that she is not a fan of when the horses step on her.
Ayers was pinned by her husband, Lander Police Department Sergeant Trent Moss.
Kramer, the other patrol officer sworn in, was born and raised in Riverton, and graduated from Riverton High School in 2002.
After high school, Kramer has done everything from selling cars to towing them, and has spent the last month and a half working with the police department in the CSO.
Kramer enjoys anything with a motor, whether working on them or driving, and in his free time, he appreciates spending time with friends and family, fishing and just about anything outside.
He was pinned by his fiance Hannah.
Trey Laird, the dispatcher who was sworn in, was born in Lander, and after moving around a few different places, he and his family returned to the area at the age of five.
Laird graduated from Lander Valley High School where enjoyed playing soccer, and currently is a dog dad to his pup Kai.
He has previous experience as a dispatcher with the county and is excited to begin his career with RPD.
Laird was pinned by his mother Crystal.
