For the third year in a row, the Riverton Special Olympics Softball Team will be competing in the 2-day Summer Sports Classic in Casper on August 16-17. The Riverton team has brought home the State Champions title for the last two years.
Head coach Jenni Wildcat shares, this years’ team consists of 13 athletes and 7 volunteer partners. They will be competing in the Skills and Unified Team Competition. Jenni explained the Unified Team means that both the skills athletes and partners play on the field together.
The athletes have been practicing every Friday, doing car wash fundraisers, raffles and more in preparation for the event.
