(Wind River Canyon) – A rock fall was reported on the north end of Wind River Canyon earlier today, August 14, according to a post shared on the WYDOT District 5 Facebook page.
The rock fell to the US20/WY789 pavement on the north end of the Canyon near milepost 127, the post states, about five miles south of Thermopolis.
The rock was pushed off the highway and traffic flows are back to normal, the post continues, but there is still a falling rock advisory issued “Between Thermopolis and Boysen Dam,” according to the WYDOT’s wyoroad.info website.
The WYDOT post also states that in terms of road damage, there is a “small divot in the highway shoulder.”
