(Fremont County, WY) – Memorial Day 2026 will take place on Monday, May 25, and there will be a number of opportunities in Fremont County to pay respect to those who gave their lives in service to our country.
Here are the ceremonies we know about so far.
- Hudson: The ceremony will take place at the Hudson Cemetery (625 East 7th Street) starting at 9 AM.
- Lander: The raising of the flags on Main Street will begin Friday, May 22; the VFW Post 954 will be hosting breakfast (7:30 to 11 AM) and lunch (11 AM to 1 PM) at the Hall (11 Tweed Lane); the Memorial Day ceremony will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery (805 Mt Hope Dr.) at 11 AM.
- Fort Washake: The ceremony will be led by the American Legion Richard Pogue Post 81, starting at 10 AM at the Path of Honor Wind River Reservation Veterans Memorial (at the Frank B. Wise Business Center located at 3 Ethete Rd.); the ceremony will then continue to the WWII Memorial Wind River Agency, the Washakie Cemetery, and the Sacajawea Cemetery; there will also be a breakfast held at the Rocky Mountain Hall (19 N Fork Rd.) from 8 to 11 AM
- Riverton: Volunteers have been requested to help place flag bundles on Veteran graves on Saturday, May 23, at Mountain View Cemetery (3540 W Main St.), click here for more details; the ceremony will take place at Mountain View Cemetery on Memorial Day at 10 AM.
