(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department is continuing to investigate the theft of an ambulance on May 18, and according to a post shared on the RPD Facebook page Tuesday morning, the RPD is looking for community assistance from anyone who may have information or video footage of the incident.
“Police are asking anyone who may have information or video footage (to) contact Detectives at (307) 856-4891,” the RPD post requests.
The incident, which occurred around 2:15 AM early Sunday morning, involved an ambulance unit that was reported stolen from SageWest Hospital, and resulted in a pursuit with law enforcement through Riverton and the Wind River Reservation.
During that pursuit, the stolen ambulance was reported to have “rammed several law enforcement vehicles,” and the suspects ultimately got away after fleeing on foot.
At this time, additional details about the incident have not been released while the investigation continues. County 10 will provide updates as we obtain them.
