State Sen. Tim Salazar (R-26) of Riverton has been named Wyoming Senate Vice President by the Republican State Caucus and is confirmed to participate in the Lander Chamber of Commerce’s December 3rd Fremont County Legislative Preview Luncheon. Salazar will serve as one of the Senate’s top three leaders alongside Senate President Bo Biteman (R-21) of Ranchester and Senate Majority Floor Leader Tara Nethercott (R-4) of Cheyenne.
Sen. Salazar will be joined by Senator Cale Case (R-25) and Representatives John Winter (R-28), Pepper Ottman (R-34), and Lloyd Larsen (R-54). Beginning at noon on Tuesday each will highlight their interim legislative activities as well as share what issues they expect the Legislature will address when the Wyoming Legislature convenes its General Session on January, 14th in Cheyenne. A general Q&A will follow legislators’ individual comments.
“Much has changed in the past few weeks since the election, and both chambers of the Legislature will be under new and more conservative leadership,” said Owen Sweeney, CEO of the Lander Chamber. “It will be interesting to hear what our legislators are anticipating,” Sweeney continued, “as many political observers expect a tightening of the purse and a more aggressive pursuit of conservative politics overall. Folks are waiting with bated breath to see what happens come January.”
