(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared a high pressure ridge axis will shift a little bit to the east of our area today, August 12, which will allow monsoonal moisture to stream into Wyoming from the southwest.
Lipson says this will result in partly sunny skies, with scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms that could produce locally heavy rainfall, small hail and wind gusts up 45 mph. These storms will continue into tonight under mostly cloudy skies.
The National Weather Service in Riverton has also shared that the best chances for the storms will occur during the peak heating hours.
High temperatures for today will be in the 70’s and 80’s, with lows tonight in the 50’s.
