(Fremont County, WY) – Temperatures in Riverton and Lander broke some records yesterday, September 25, according to the National Weather Service in Riverton (NWSR).
Late season high pressure brought hot temperatures to the Fremont area yesterday, the NWSR informs, with both Lander and Riverton reaching 90 degrees.
The previous record for Lander was 89 degrees in 2015, with Riverton at 88 degrees, also in 2015.
The period of record for Lander is from 1891 to present day, and Riverton from 1996 to present day.
The NWSR also shared that this is the latest 90 degree day that Riverton airport has recorded since its records began in 1996, while the Lander airport’s latest 90 degree day was September 26th 2015, so only a day off, with its records going all the way back to 1891.
