We start our Fall programs this week. We offer activities for infants through high school students. Hope to see you soon!
For the littlest patrons, we have Enhanced Storytime, Wednesdays at 10:30 am, starting September 3rd. Join us for stories, rhymes, and songs followed by sensory activities perfect for littles. This is a great opportunity to get to know other families. Depending on staffing and level of interest, we may add a concurrent section for the older preschoolers with slightly longer stories and age appropriate crafts & games.
Storytime Dance Party, one Friday a month at 10:30 am. Check our website for your next opportunity to move to the beat of kid songs and enjoy a couple of stories. Perfect for those kiddos who just need to move! September’s Dance Party will be on the 19th.
LEGO Club, for ages 5-12, provides an opportunity to build fantastic creations with the library’s LEGOs. Junior Builders, for ages 3-5, requires a parent to remain with the child as they explore building with Duplo. These groups are held simultaneously on the first Thursday of each month from 4-4:45. Begins September 4th.
Chess Club, for ages 5 to 18, provides an opportunity to learn the game and perfect your skills. In September we will meet on the 25th from 4-5 pm.
Homeschool Elementary Read Aloud. Want to give your elementary student a chance to meet up with others and hear some great stories? Join us for fun on Tuesdays at 1 pm. Begins Sept 2nd.
Library Activities for Elementary Kids (LAEK) is a monthly activity on a Saturday from 11-12. Is your child missing the fun from preschool Storytime and wanting to connect with library friends? Here is an opportunity for them to hear stories for older kids along with an extended activity such as crafts or games related to the theme. Stories and activities are most appropriate for grades 1-3. The first session of LAEK for this year will be Saturday September 13th.
Teen Gaming activities for students in seventh grade and up. We offer board games and computers for use during all open hours in the CanTeen. When staffing allows we will be offering additional video gaming opportunities. Check our website for updates.
We are still searching for volunteers to help us with our Chess Club, Dungeons & Dragons Club, and Teen Creation Space. Please contact the library if you are interested in helping.
