All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Shoshoni, WY) – Now former Assistant Director of the Shoshoni Senior Center Jeannie Kroenke has been arrested and charged with one count of exploitation of a vulnerable adult, according to a release issued by Shoshoni Police Department Chief Chris Konija on July 14.

The Shoshoni Police Department is investigating the financial exploitation of a vuinerable adult which occurred since April 17, 2025 at the Shoshoni Senior Center in Shoshoni, WY.
On July 9, 2026, Wyoming Community Bank contacted the Shoshoni Police Department to report suspicious deposits into a checking account, which had been drawn upon an account belonging to a
92-year-old female. Wyoming Community Bank stated they had been in contact with the bank on which the checks were drawn, BMO, which had suspected elder abuse and contacted law enforcement as a mandatory reporting policy.
Wyoming Community Bank identified the owner of the account in which the deposits were made as belonging to Jeannie Kroenke. During the initial investigation, nine checks were identified between April 17, 2025, and June 23, 2026, ranging in amounts between $1,000 to $15,000.
Officers conducted an interview with Jeannie at the Shoshoni Police Department which confirmed the checks had been deposited by Jeannie into her account and were obtained from a client at the Shoshoni Senior Center where Jeannie was employed as the Assistant Director. Jeannie was subsequently arrested and initially charged with one count of exploitation of a vulnerable adult.
This is an active investigation and no additional information will be released at this time pending additional charges.
