A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Olsen Orthodontics.
(Arapahoe, WY) – Thanks to Donors Choose and The Compassion Project, students in Heather Pasquinelli’s English 2 class at Arapahoe Charter High School are giving back to their community.
Students have assembled “care bags” for children of the Wind River Reservation who are entering foster care.

Donations were provided by the aforementioned organizations to allow for items to be purchased to assemble these bags, which include a backpack, blanket, teddy bear, night light, hygiene kit, book, and craft and coloring kit. These bags can help provide an immediate sense of comfort for children who are in a state of uncertainty at the time of placement.
“In a time where people are increasingly being torn apart, we’re inspired by projects like this one that teach students compassion: how to see the world through the eyes of another person in order to help them,” wrote The Compassion Project when funding this project.
Students assembled the bags and included a short note signed by each student. The 45 bags will be divided between agencies for the Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho Department of Family Services.
Arapaho Charter High School is dedicated to cultivating students’ care and compassion for their local community.
