Riverton senior Beau Anderson has signed a National Letter of Intent with Nebraska Western Community College in Scottsbluff to play baseball.
The versatile athlete played basketball and golf for Riverton High School, and has been a mainstay of the Riverton American Legion Raiders throughout high school.
Anderson looked at playing baseball at Miles City Community College and Dawson Community College in Montana, but found a better fit in Scottsbluff.
Plans are for him to play shortstop and catch for the Cougars.
He’ll take general studies as an incoming freshman since he’s not sure of a career path yet.
At Riverton High School, he carried a 3.8 grade point average and had a 4.0 during the fall semester of his senior year.
“I liked Scottsbluff. They have great facilities,” Anderson said. “There are four batting cages and an indoor facility. The coach has been there for 25 years.”
Mike Jones is the venerable head coach. The Cougars are 22-29 overall so far this season and 14-0 in Region IX play. 
Anderson is the son of C.W. and Kelly Anderson.
When asked why he enjoyed baseball so much, Anderson said, “I’ve loved it my whole life. I love playing the sport.”
He appreciated all the help he’s received over the years since Little League.
“I thank my family, my coaches, and my friends for helping me along,” Anderson said.
