A series to share #smiles across our community through the achievements of our local youth, brought to you by Olsen Orthodontics.
(Shoshoni, WY) – The Shoshoni Schools Facebook page recently announced the junior high national qualifiers and special award winners for the Wyoming History Day competition.
Qualifiers included:
- 1st Place – Individual Junior Website: Violet Dunn (6th grade)- Florence Nightingale
- 2nd Place – Individual Junior Documentary: Alysa Brown (7th grade)- A Whistle for Society – Violet Palmer
- 1st Place – Individual Junior Exhibit: Jessie Jensen (8th grade)- The Cuban Missile Crisis
- 2nd Place – Individual Junior Exhibit: Tucker Bass (6th grade)- The Navajo Code Talkers
Special awards and nominations included:
- Outstanding Women in History Award: Violet Dunn- Florence Nightingale
- Global Engagement Award for Excellence in International History: Brannock Rambo- The Berlin Airlift
- Family History Award: Wacey Myers- How Picasso Reformed Art
The announcement post states that “Mrs. Becker is incredibly proud of all the junior high students, especially all of their hard work, creativity, and dedication this year. Your Wrangler community is cheering you on and so proud of you all!”
The qualifiers will now head to Washington, DC, in June for the National Competition.
