(Crowheart, WY) – Crowheart’s Stetson St. Clair had an outstanding high school rodeo career and will continue it in Region IX competition after signing a National Letter of Intent to compete in rodeo at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne.
Stetson is the son of Waldo and Emmi Tarango.
St. Clair considered competing on the rodeo team at Eastern Wyoming College and Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas.
“Laramie County had a better rodeo program,” St. Clair said.
He will major in ag business.
“I’d like to take over the family ranch someday,” St. Clair said.
He carries a 3.0 grade point average and played basketball at Shoshoni before he moved to homeschooling.
He’ll compete in bull riding, but he might team rope as well.
His goal is to join the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. (PRCA)
“I get a rush from bull riding,” St. Clair said. “I get nervous, excited, all the emotions.”
He appreciated the help he’s had on his way to college rodeo.
“I thank my parents for doing everything for me and for taking me everywhere,” St. Clair said.
