(Riverton, WY) – The Soldiers House of Fremont County was recently awarded the “Above and Beyond” award for “Excellence in Service to Veterans” at the first Veteran Services Symposium, sponsored by the Wyoming Veterans Commission.
In addition to receiving the award, Soldier’s House founders Jen and Charlie Wilson shared that they spent “two fantastic days of networking and learning about other programs available to Wyoming Veterans” in a recent post on the Soldier’s House Facebook page.
Governor Mark Gordon and Col. Tim Sheppard, Director of the Wyoming Veterans Commission, presented the award to the Wilsons.
“We at the Soldier’s House are honored and humbled,” the duo shared in the Facebook post.
“Over the past few years, we have honed our work to concentrate on three pillars: Wellness, Food Security and Housing Security. We are incredibly grateful to our Board, donors and volunteers who made our work possible. Freedom is not free. Do not take it for granted.
