(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, January 21, we can expect mostly sunny skies as a high-pressure ridge builds in from the west.
Sunny skies won’t help with the cold, Lipson advises, because a very strong temperature inversion has reestablished itself over the area. Lipson also says that the Dubois, Beaver Rim, and South Pass areas can expect southwest winds gusting up to 40-45 mph, which will cause blowing/drifting snow and wind chills down to the -30s.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that an approaching system will bring light snow chances to northern Wyoming beginning this evening.
High temperatures will be in the teens and lower 20’s for most today, with Shoshoni staying in the single digits at 5 degrees.
Lows tonight in the negative single digits for most, but as mentioned above, these temperatures will likely feel much cooler due to the wind chill.
