(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, May 14, will be sunny and cooler behind the cool front, with a high in the mid-70s, and will remain windy, with northwest winds of 25 to 35 with gusts of 40 miles per hour. The relative humidity will dip to 9% for elevated fire danger once again.
Tonight will be mostly clear and cooler, with lows in the low 40s, and west-southwest winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour.
Tomorrow, Friday, a low-pressure center tracking east across southern Canada will swing a low-pressure trough across Wyoming. This will tighten the pressure gradient, resulting in increasing west-southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts of 45 mph. The high temperature will once again be in the mid-70s and the relative humidity will dip down to 8%. The warm weather combined with the wind and low relative humidity will increase fire potential once again. Lipson says we will see Virga showers, with precipitation falling out of high-based cumulus clouds that evaporates before reaching the ground due to dry air in the lower atmosphere.
