It’s tax season, and we know many of you count on the Fremont County Library System to access tax forms. Unfortunately, the IRS has discontinued the program that provided libraries with tax forms and booklets. We are working to make the transition as seamless as possible for our patrons. Here are a few ways we can help:
- Forms 1040 & 1040-SR are available for purchase at the circulation desk at each Fremont County Library Branch for 25 cents each.
- A desk copy of the 1040 instruction manual is available at each branch for in-library use.
- Library staff are happy to assist you with locating & printing specific forms and schedules. Please keep in mind that patrons are responsible for all associated printing fees (printing fees can be found here).
- Public computers and free Wi-Fi are available at each branch to access the IRS’ free guided tax software or online fillable forms.
- You can request your own tax forms by mail here or by calling 800-829-3676.
Please remember to look out for scams this tax season. The IRS will typically contact you by U.S. mail, which you can verify here. The IRS does NOT leave pre-recorded voicemails. To read more about how to recognize scams, click here.
