The Telephone Fire was first reported yesterday afternoon, September 10, in the area of Wiggins Fork north of Dubois, according to the USDA Forest Service – Shoshone National Forest Facebook page.
As of today, September 11, the fire is estimated at 30 acres.
“Two hand crews have arrived and are being briefed on the operation,” today’s update informs. “Additional aviation support is also on order. With increased winds expected today the focus of operations is to keep firefighters safe and growth to a minimum.”
As of 4 PM on Friday, the Watch Duty App indicates that containment remains at 0%. No presumed cause has been shared at this time.
