When Porter’s Grilled fires up on Saturday, June 20, at 12:30 pm, the stakes will be higher than ever as the champions from the last three years return for one epic showdown. The Battle of Champions will feature plenty of smoke, mystery ingredients, and backyard bragging rights as former winners Chris Warren, Mike “Chingy” Chingman, and Patrick Edwards face off to determine who truly rules the grill.
Chris Warren: The Outdoor Chef
Defending champion Chris Warren feels most at home with dirt on his boots and fire under the grill. An avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and outdoorsman, Chris enjoys bringing family, culture, and fresh ingredients together over an open flame. He’s a devoted husband and proud father to Ira and Sokai, and feeding family and friends has always been one of his greatest passions.
That passion helped him earn the 2025 Grilled title, and now he’s back to prove it wasn’t beginner’s luck.
With years spent mastering the art of cooking outdoors, Chris is ready to throw down with the former champs and show everyone why he’s still the man to beat.

Mike “Chingy” Chingman: The Big Dog Is Hungry
Known to many simply as “Chingy,” Mike Chingman turned his passion for smoking meats and his love of Latino cuisine into Chingy’s Smoke & Grub. Today, he’s also the Deka Guy Hee Manager for the Shoshone Rose, a role he says has been a true blessing.
His love for cooking started with his mother, Phyllis Trosper, who spent more than three decades as a school cook. Following in her footsteps, Mike discovered that preparing food is more than just a meal. It’s a way to serve others and bring people together.
But don’t mistake his humble beginnings for weakness.
As Mike puts it:
“The big dog is coming to eat. He’s hungry.”
That warning should have the other champions checking their thermometers.

Patrick Edwards: Trading Fishing Tales for Grill Smoke
A native Wyomingite and lifelong outdoorsman, Patrick Edwards is best known as a local fishing legend and host of the Angling Wisdom Podcast, where he shares stories and tips from Wyoming’s waters.
But fishing isn’t his only talent.
Whether he’s smoking fresh-caught fish or grilling beef for friends and family, Patrick approaches cooking with the same patience, skill, and appreciation for Wyoming flavors that have made him a respected outdoorsman.
Now, the 2023 champion is swapping fishing rods for spatulas and returning to Porter’s Grilled with one goal in mind: reclaiming his crown.

Fremont County will find out Saturday, June 20, during the 4th Annual Porter’s Grilled Event from 11 am to 3 pm at Porter’s in Riverton. The competition starts at 12:30 pm.
One thing is certain: when three champions enter, only one will leave with the title of Ultimate Grilled Champion. May the best burger win!
