If you haven’t submitted your nominations for the annual Lander Community Awards, you’re running out of time! The nomination deadline is this Thursday, March 18.
“We’ve been edified by the response we’ve been receiving for our COVID-inspired idea to produce a Community Awards Video Series this year,” said Owen Sweeney, Executive Director of the Lander Chamber. So far we’ve received more than 100 nominations, and we still expect to receive a few more. It’s fun to see who the community nominates and compare their favorites to those businesses we thought would be nominated. Often, it’s pretty much what we’d been thinking, but other times some nominations come in that we never would have thought of; it’s a fun process.”
Due to the lingering COVID-19 situation, the Community Awards will not be awarded at the typical in-person luncheon this year, but rather through a series of videos that will be shared over the course of several weeks through local and regional news outlets and social media channels. “We’re delighted that County 10 has joined us this year as our Preferred Media Partner for the Community Awards,” said Sweeney. “We’ve been spreading the word through various local media channels, and we think County 10’s reach and popularity will help us announce the winners to a broader audience than ever before.”
