(Lander, WY) – Over 250 cyclists were camped in City Park over the last two nights as the Tour de Wyoming rode through the Lander area for its second, third, and fourth stages.
Riders made their way the long way from Riverton to Lander Monday by way of Beaver Rim. Tuesday, they rode to the top of Sinks Canyon at Fossil Hill and back down and around the Baldwin Loop. Today they’ll ride against the wind on their way to Dubois, after which they’ll ride up to the top of Togwotee Pass and then back to Riverton the next day for the race’s finish.

The 28-year-old race changes course every year through Wyoming, taking advantage of the different types of geography presented by different regions. This year’s 400-mile course is all within Fremont County and requires 20,0000 feet of climbing as it meanders through the foothills of the Wind River Mountain Range.
The event presents a great chance for riders to compete and stack on a lot of miles while having a place to sleep and food to eat, provided by Jones & Co. Catering, for breakfast and dinner at every stop. The race also offers yoga sessions and a massage therapist for riders seeking to loosen their tired muscles after long days on the road.
