All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
UPDATE: Chief Waugh confirmed with County 10 that the stabbing victim was life-flighted to another hospital, but is in stable condition and “expecting a full recovery.”
(Lander, WY) – Lander Police Department Chief Kelly Waugh has issued a press release with new details in relation to the reported crimes committed on April 21, which involved multiple break-ins and a stabbing.

The Lander Police Department has arrested two adult suspects in connection with a series of burglaries and an attempted murder investigation within the City of Lander.
Following multiple calls for service within a short period of time, patrol officers and detectives apprehended Lorenzo Hopper, 18 and Amanda Phillips, 21. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident on 4/21/26.
The investigation revealed that the suspects are believed to be responsible for multiple commercial burglaries that occurred in the Lander during the nighttime hours on 4/21/26. During the course of this investigation, evidence was also developed linking the suspects to an attempted murder stemming from an incident that occurred on 4/21/26, in which an employee of a local business was stabbed during an altercation.
Both suspects are being formally charged with:
• Attempted Murder
• Multiple counts of Burglary
• Along with several other charges pending
They are currently being held at the Fremont County Detention Center pending initial court appearances.
