(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, March 8, will be sunny, very windy, and warm.
The combination of a tightening pressure gradient and very strong winds aloft sinking down to the surface will result in strong west winds of 30 to 40 mph, with gusts of 50 to 55 mph. High temperatures will reach the mid-60s once again, and we could see wind gusting up to 75 mph along Highway 28 above Red Canyon on the way to South Pass.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, with continued west winds blowing at 30 to 40 mph and gusts of 50 mph in the evening. Then the winds will veer to the north-northeast at 15 to 25 mph after midnight, after a cold front moves in from the north, with lows dropping to the upper 20s.
