(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, June 12, a very weak upper-level weather disturbance will track west to east across the area, which will kick off some isolated showers along with a possible thunderstorm later this afternoon and early evening.
Any thunderstorms that do form will likely have brief 40 to 50 mph wind gusts; otherwise, tonight will be clear.
Lipson says tomorrow will be partly to mostly sunny, but by later Friday afternoon, isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be likely. The best chance of any thunderstorm activity is expected to occur in northeast Fremont County, where more moisture and higher dew points will be present, namely in Shoshoni, Boysen Reservoir, Wind River Canyon, Lysite, and Lost Cabin. These storms could produce 45-50 mph wind gusts along with small hail and locally heavy rainfall.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also advised that today’s activity will not be as widespread as yesterday’s, and much of the area will remain dry.
High temperatures will be in the 70’s and 80’s today, with lows tonight in the 50’s for most.
