(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, April 7, a ridge axis will be right over our area this morning before moving off to the east, at which point the pressure gradient will increase to the west of the axis as a Pacific trough approaches the coastline.
This increase in pressure gradient means southwest winds will increase to speeds of 20-30 mph this afternoon, which will usher in warmer air under mostly sunny skies. The winds are expected to continue into tonight, under cloudier skies.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also shared that a weather system will move into western Wyoming after dark, bringing scattered shower and thunderstorm chances to western and northern parts of the state through Wednesday morning. A significant warm-up is on the way for late this week.
High temperatures will be in the 60’s for most today, with lows tonight in the lower 40’s and 30’s.
