A fire was reported at approximately 3:15 pm on Wednesday between Highway 135 and Highway 287 south of Riverton toward Sand Draw.
Fremont County Fire District Chief Craig Haslam shares the fire was started by man-made sparks. The fire burned approximately 40 acres. No structures were lost in the fire. Several local fire battalions responded to the fire as well as BLM and BIA.
Fremont County Fire District wants to remind people it is drying up and to exercise caution when using anything that can start a fire.
