(Lander, WY) – “I‘ve lived with a disability for many years, and there were countless nights I lay awake worrying about emergencies, like a fire, and wondering how responders would know I needed help moving, whether from a person or mobility aids,” Lander resident Deana Anderson explains on the Info In An Instant website, which is an endeavor she recently created to address that concern.
Info in an Instant is a color-coded sticker/magnet system, “something clear, visible, and immediate,” to help responders better address the needs of the folks they are helping.
The stickers or magnets are placed near home entryways or on vehicle windows to help first responders understand what type of assistance may be needed. The stickers function as indicators for things like mobility assistance, potential cognitive/behavioral issues or hearing/vision problems, other medical conditions, and whether the patient is receiving hospice care or has a service animal.

Anderson says it’s a “way to communicate critical needs right at the front door, where first responders look first.”
