(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, June 27, a Pacific Northwest trough will approach the area and tighten the pressure gradient, thus increasing westerly winds to 25 to 35 mph, with gusts of 45 miles per hour.
An associated Pacific cold front will push through the area, keeping high temperatures in the low 80s. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected by afternoon, especially in northwest Fremont County, including Dubois and Togwotee Pass.
Tonight, as the low-pressure center tracks east across the northern Rockies, we can expect scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, with mostly cloudy skies and lows in the low 50s. Southwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour will diminish after midnight, and rain showers will turn to snow showers on Togedi Pass, with little or no accumulation.
Tomorrow, Sunday, will be mostly sunny with a high in the mid 70s, southwest winds increasing to 25 to 35 miles per hour by afternoon, as we will still be under the circulation of the low-pressure center to our north, and snowfall on Togwotee Pass will mix with rain.
