(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, September 15, a Pacific trough that has been approaching the Rocky Mountains will spawn a low-pressure center over Yellowstone National Park, which will initiate scattered showers and thunderstorms this morning.
Skies will clear by afternoon, Lipson added, and once the sun comes back out, the air mass will destabilize. This, in combination with the trough of low pressure that will then be directly overhead, will initiate another round of isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon winds will blow from the west northwest at 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40. Tonight, after a few evening showers, expect partly cloudy skies.
The National Weather Service in Riverton has reported that highs will be in the 60s and 70s today, with lows in the 40s expected tonight for most areas.
