(Fremont County, WY) – As of May 3rd, the snowpack/snow water equivalent (SWE) has continued to see a steady increase in the Wind River Basin which is now at 101%. However, the Sweetwater Basin has dropped to 65%, according to the Wyoming Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
The statewide SWE has also dropped to only 89%. Basins west of the continental divide generally had 10-20% decreases in SWEs from last week due to active snowmelt at elevations below 9,000 feet.

Light snow amounts are expected across all mountain areas in Wyoming early this week and again by the end of the week.
