In August, the Wyoming Public Transit Association (WYTRANS) hosted their annual training for statewide transit workers, as well as the 2025 Bus Roadeo competition, as part of their 2025 conference in Rock Springs.
This year three Wind River Transportation Authority (WRTA) operators competed in the Bus Roadeo, and took home first and third place finishes!
There were fourteen public transit operators from across Wyoming competing in this year’s contest.
In addition, two WRTA staff were honored with Dispatcher of the Year and Trainer of the Year: Lexy and Milisa Palmer In total, WRTA collected 4 of the 7 awards WYTRANS recognizes.
“It was an exciting week, and I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s hard work and recognition at the state level,” said WRTA Director, Timothy Nichols.
Participating in the WYTRANS Conference and Bus Roadeo is an important opportunity for the WRTA team. They receive hands-on training, strengthen customer service skills, and learn new ways to improve our community transit system.
