(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, February 25, should be the windiest day of the week, as a vigorous Pacific trough pushes across the area with west-southwest winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts of 55 mph in the Wind River Basin. We could also see gusts as high as 65 to 70 mph from South Pass to Jeffrey City in southeast Fremont County.
Lipson says to expect another inch of snow on South Pass and another four inches on Togwotee Pass, with isolated snow turning to rain showers here in the basin. Highs will be in the mid-50s under partly sunny skies.
Tonight looks mostly clear, with lows in the lower 20s. Winds will shift to the northwest at 20 to 30 mph in the evening, with gusts of 40 to 45 mph diminishing to 15 to 25 mph after midnight.
