(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, January 6, will be very windy with southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 40 and 50 mph. Southeast Fremont County, namely South Pass to Beaver Rim to Jeffrey City, will likely see gusts up to 60 mph, and Highway 28 above Red Canyon on the way to South Pass could see gusts up to 80 mph. Lipson added that Togwotee Pass will see another 1 to 2 inches of new snow today.
Tonight, expect mostly cloudy and windy conditions, with southwest winds gusting up to 45 to 50 mph in Southeast Fremont, as well as another 1 to 3 inches of snowfall on Togwotee Pass.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that highs will vary across Fremont today, with most areas in the 40s, Dubois at 35 degrees, and the South Pass area at 29 degrees. Lows tonight will be in the lower 30s and upper 20s.
