(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, September 14, will be sunny and windy. An upper-level low-pressure center tracking east/northeast from the Idaho panhandle to the Montana-Canadian border will swing a vigorous upper-level trough as well as an associated strong surface boundary across central Wyoming this morning.
Strong winds will follow, with northwest winds of 35 to 45 mph this morning decreasing to 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 mph this afternoon. However, up in Dubois and Crowheart, we can expect winds to gust as high as 60 mph occasionally throughout the day and up to 50 mph in southeast Fremont County in the South Pass, Beaver Rim, and Jeffrey City areas. Highs will be in the mid-70s, and the relative humidity will drop to 10% in the afternoon, exacerbating fire weather conditions.
Tonight looks to be mostly clear and cooler, with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, evening northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph before diminishing and becoming east after midnight
