(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that localized areas of patchy fog will dissipate by 10-11 AM for today, January 10, with partly sunny conditions to follow.
Last night the area had ideal radiational cooling conditions under clear skies and calm winds, which enabled another cold temperature inversion, Lipson added.
This means cooler temperatures today, with thickening clouds tonight.
Lipson also shared that a strong Pacific trough is approaching, and leading up to it, there will be west, northwest winds gusting up to 35 mph, as well as gusts up to 40 to 60 mph tonight between South Pass and Red Canyon along Highway 28.
These winds could cause some areas of blowing snow, Lipson went on to report, and that light snow will break out by late tonight around Fremont County, into tomorrow.
The National Weather Service in Riverton also reported that it will be a windy day across the state, with gusts reaching 50 mph around Casper and Cody.
Today, high temperatures will be in the 20s in Riverton, Shoshoni, and the South Pass area, with Lander, Dubois, and Jeffrey City in the 30s.
Lows tonight will be in the teens for most.
