(Fremont County, WY) – County 10 meteorologist Dave Lipson has shared that today, May 26, winds will turn southerly and increase to speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 mph as the circulation of a vigorous, nearly vertically-stacked, mid-to-upper-level low-pressure center over the Pacific Northwest spreads east into Wyoming
Pacific moisture will spread north into Wyoming with southerly winds, and the combination of added moisture and increasing instability will result in widely scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly over the higher terrain and in eastern Fremont County. Lipson says to expect 40-50 mph wind gusts with some of the storms, and a high in the low 80s.
Tonight will see widely scattered evening thunderstorms and mostly cloudy skies, with lows around 50 degrees and south winds of 15-25 mph, diminishing after midnight.
