(Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, effective starting tonight at 11 PM, October 25, through Monday, October 27, at noon, for the Wind River Mountains East and Wind River Mountains West.
The NWSR advises that total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches above 10,000 ft, and 6 to 12 inches between 9,000 ft and 10,000 ft are expected, with less than 6 inches below 9,000 ft. 4 to 8 inches of snow is expected across Union Pass, and 2 to 4 inches is expected across South Pass.
This will combine with winds gusting up to 60 mph.
Travel could be very difficult along mountain roads, the NWST also advises.
