Wyoming Community Bank and its Mortgage Department graciously donated $25,000 to the Riverton Boys and Girls Club of Central Wyoming. The donation will help the club focus on its services for local children in Riverton and the surrounding areas.
Ninety-three young people walked through the doors of the Boys & Girls Club of Riverton in a single day this year, marking the highest attended day in Club history. For an after-school program in our community, that number represents something extraordinary. It reflects the growing need for a safe, supportive place where children can learn, build relationships, and simply be kids.
Guided by its mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens, the Riverton Club continues to serve as an important resource for local families. Over the last year, the Club served 12,973 healthy meals and snacks and provided programs and support to 773 young people.
At the Club, no two days are ever the same. Members participate in a wide range of activities designed to help them build skills they will carry far beyond the Club walls. Whether learning Spanish or American Sign Language, exploring cooking and sewing through home economics, or building emotional awareness through MindUp and SMART Moves, the focus is always on supporting the whole child.
Hands-on learning is central to the Club experience. Members have operated a lemonade stand to learn entrepreneurship and explored future careers during a DC Comics-themed day that included a virtual tour of Warner Bros. Studios. They then created and animated their own original comics, combining creativity with real-world learning opportunities.
Exposure to new opportunities can open doors for young people in powerful ways. These experiences help Club members see possibilities they may never have imagined and give them the confidence to pursue them.
