Governor Mark Gordon recently commented on the ongoing situation at the Wyoming State Capitol.
“I am actively working with law enforcement and am monitoring the situation at the Capitol,” Gov. Gordon wrote on his social media pages. “This incident is an on-going investigation. All Capitol building employees have been notified of the situation. Employee safety is my highest priority and all Capitol building employees were evacuated out of an abundance of caution to ensure their safety.”

(Cheyenne, WY) – The Wyoming Highway Patrol recently announced that the State Capitol Building in Cheyenne has been evacuated.
That’s according to a social media post from the WHP, which states that they are investigating “an ongoing situation” at the State Capitol.
“Right now, we are investigating an ongoing incident at the Capitol,” Aaron Brown, the Public Information Officer with the Wyoming Highway Patrol told Cap City News. “We had a report of a possible IED. We evacuated the Capitol building and we are asking people to avoid the area as we investigate.”
Brown emphasized that the report is of a suspected IED and that nothing has been confirmed as of this writing.
“No confirmation of an actual IED just yet,” Brown said. “It’s simply suspected at the moment.”
