The former La Cantina building west of Kinnear was consumed in a fire yesterday afternoon. A couple had been living there and renovating the building to turn into a permanent home, shared Fremont County Fire Protection District Division Chief Ron Wempen.
While the building is a total loss, no injuries were reported. However, the two have been displaced and are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross of Wyoming.
The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating, but preliminary findings show the cause of the fire as accidental, Ron shared.
