All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
(Fremont County, WY) – The change of plea hearing for Conrad Tillman was held yesterday, January 7, before the Honorable Judge Kelly H. Rankin in Casper.
A sentencing hearing has been set for March 21, 2025.
Tillman was originally charged with first degree murder, discharging and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and use of a firearm causing murder, in relation to the April 14 murder that resulted in the death of 36-year-old Utahnna BearComesOut (aka Tillman).
Court filings state that a “guilty plea (was) entered to (a) lesser included offense of Count 1” at yesterday’s hearing, but did not specifically name the “lesser included offense.”
“Lesser included offenses” for first-degree murder can include second-degree murder, or voluntary/involuntary manslaughter.
The court filings also inform that “Count(s) 2 and 3 (are) to be dismissed at sentencing.” These include the discharging and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and use of a firearm causing murder charges.
Tillman originally pled “not guilty” at his June 10 arraignment hearing, and since then, his jury trial moved multiple times.
On December 9, a non-public plea agreement was filed on Tillman’s behalf, at which point the January 7 change of plea hearing was set.
As stated above, Tillman’s sentencing hearing has been set for March 21, 2025. He remains detained at this time.
